This one day practical course, introduces delegates to the translation of HTML and XML. Delegates will learn the underlying principles and how to manage the translation process. |

• What is HTML and what is XHTML?
• Which(X)HTML tags are important for translators?
• Which attributes may contain translatable text?
• Character entities and numeric character references
• Character sets and language attributes
• Translating scripts
• What are stylesheets?
• What is XML?
• Comments and CDATA sections
• DTDs, schemas and tag settings (*.INI)
• Protecting element content (non-translatable text)
• XSL transformations
• Well-formed and valid documents
• Previewing translated documents
• Troubleshooting: typical problems and solutions
• Questions and answers
