PIM TM
PIM (Product Information Management see pim.emea.europa.eu/) is a system introduced by the EMEA (European Medicines Agency www.emea.eu.int/)as a means of:
* increasing the efficiency of the management and exchange of product information (Summary of Product Characteristics, package leaflet and labeling) by all parties involved in the evaluation process through the structuring of the information and its exchange by electronic means; and
* improving the quality and consistency of the published product information.
Using the PIM XML format in the translation process is complicated by a number of factors, most sources predict that eventually all submissions with be in PIM. As such any company involved in translation of EMEA submissions will need to be aware of the most effective way of processing PIM XML. Amicus TransTec is currently working with Kilgray (the developers of MemoQ) to create an PIM Translation Memory solution. Contact us for more details.
